Martin County Must Address Attainable Housing Issues.
On April 26, a dozen devoted Democrats met at the Blake Library to discuss our future course in the direction of attainable housing here in Martin County. What we found upset us all. Martin County is about to become a "gentrified" copy of Palm Beach County unless we work quickly to save it.
As a bedroom of Palm Beach, we will not have our historical identity. When the average worker making $50,000 per year finds that a home here is not affordable...what do we do? That is where we stand today. Our Republican county administration, bent on the profits from uncontrolled growth is selling out Martin County quickly.
We will make it our goal to try to shape a course for the County that is acceptable to ALL of its residents, rich, and poor, black, white or Latino.
